The Truth about Christmas

I love the poem RJN quoted in December's FIRST THINGS. I'll leave you with the final verse of John Betjeman's "Christmas:"

No love that in a family dwells,
No carolling in frosty air,
Nor all the steeple-shaking bells,
Can with this simple Truth comapre-
That God was Man in Palestine
And lives today in Bread and Wine.
